“From that time, in all weathers, she waited there two hours… When it was not too wet or inclement for her child to be with her, they went together; at other times she was alone; but she never missed a single day.”
This passage from A Tale of Two Cities shows Lucie’s dedication to her husband. She will do anything to be close to him, which is why she goes outside his prison window every afternoon so that he can see Lucie and their baby. Lucie displays courage and devotion, because no matter what the weather is like or how the conditions of the city are, she is willing to stand for two hours even though she can’t see her husband.
I believe that Lucie is a great example of the traits that we should have in order to reach our goals in life. If we are really dedicated in our work and efforts, then we will be able to exceed our expectations and will prevent ourselves from giving up.
What I take from this is that if my partner and I stay devoted to our innovation project and be courageous, we will be able to accomplish our goal. If we take one step at a time in our bake sales and fundraising, we achieve success.
